Being born and raised in Colombia of course I love coffee. My grandmother made it in a pot and let it rest for the grinds to go to the bottom before serving it. The aroma is unforgettable. When I smell coffee it always brings me home no matter where in the world I am.
"When I smell coffee it always brings me home no matter where in the world I am." I just love how you describe this, Angela -- what a beautiful line, and I couldn't agree more about the evocative powers of coffee's aroma! ☕
My favorite for years has been a cafe latte. Although this might be a bit unconventional, my mother got me started on coffee when I was just a kid (about 10 years old). She would let me dip my morning toast into a little cup of coffee, and I loved the taste. It may be why today I love so much milk with my coffee!
my husband likes black coffee especially kopi kosong (Singapore)! I don't drink coffee but I'm a supporter of his interest, hehe! congrats on your book Candace!
Aeropress Americano at home with the best freshly ground beans you can find! Such a good feeling of nostalgia your sketches, reminds me of normal times when we could enjoy a cup of coffee sitting outside. Congrats on the book! Saludos!
Thank you so much, Barbara! And I love that you mentioned the AeroPress here -- I became an AeroPress convert while writing the book and love starting my day with it now, too ☕
Strong and Black. That’s how I love my coffee. Surrounded by the smell, the grinding of the beans, the anticipation. Ahhhhh.......It takes me back to a family coffee farm, up a jungle mountain track, by motorbike, way above the clouds in Columbia. Sitting on top of the world, sipping original coffee, with a coffee mud pack on my face. Ahhhh........coffee.
What a beautiful comment, Caroll -- your family's coffee farm sounds like a truly magical place, tucked away above the clouds. Thanks so much for sharing about it with us!
Congratulations on the new book! And what a great topic. ☕️ I remember my Cajun grandmother making coffee in the morning using an old fashioned drip pot, slowly pouring the water over the grounds, bit by bit. As for a favorite espresso drink, it’s hard to pick just one, but I’d have to say Latte (it reminds me of the “coffee milk” she’d make for her grandchildren). 😍
I'm just loving hearing about everyone's favorite memories with coffee -- how lovely to read about your grandmother this morning, Gayla :) Thanks so much for sharing that memory with us! ☕️❤️
I love an earthy aged Sumatra!

A smooth and silky soy flat white - Sydney Style!
Congratulations Candace! This is wonderful! I love Cafe Lattes! Especially in Italian piazzas.
Thank you so much, Treava! And how lovely it would be to sketch and sip lattes together in an Italian piazza :) One day, I hope! ☕🇮🇹

A darkish roast brewed strong and drunk hot suits me just fine.
Yay Candace, I cant wait to read your new books and savour your art over a cup of coffee. My favourite is a decadent mocha
Thank you so much, Bridget! And it's great to hear you're a fellow mocha lover :) ☕
Mexican mocha with dark chocolate, cinnamon and cayenne. Difficult to find. Best in Mexico.
That sounds delicious! One of the coffee traditions I most loved researching was Mexico's café de olla, so I'm so glad you mentioned it here :)

Thank you so much, Elisa! And how I would love to be in Singapore right now, enjoying some coffee and sketching with you :)
